It has been reported that Eriksen has decided he definitely wants to leave Tottenham in 2020
The Danish playmaker is currently on international duty but his club future is up in the air
Christian Eriksen has ‘made his mind up’ and wants to leave Tottenham in 2020… and now he will wait to see if Real Madrid want to make a move for him.
The Danish playmaker is entering the final nine months of his contract at Spurs, after angling for a move but failing to secure an exit in the summer window.
And now, according to reports in Marca, Eriksen is ‘clear’ about his future… and it’s not in north London.
The front page of the Spanish paper on Friday details the 27-year-old’s desire to leave, revealing that he has turned down three contract offers from Spurs.
They write that Daniel Levy and Co will look for a figure in the region of £18m to £22m in January, rather than risk letting him go for free in the summer.
Now it is down to Real Madrid to make their move, in the knowledge that Eriksen is desperate for a switch to the Bernabeu.
It is rare for a player of Eriksen’s calibre to be available at such a low price, and it is understood that they don’t want to risk another Kepa Arrizabalaga situation and watch the player shine elsewhere.
The Dane is unlikely to be the only exit from Spurs in the coming months, after it was reported that Mauricio Pochettino is planning a mid-season clear-out.
Departures could include the likes of Eric Dier, Danny Rose, Victor Wanyama and Serge Aurier.
