The nominees for the PFA Premier League Fans’ Player of the Year have been released with three Liverpool stars making the six-man shortlist.
Sadio Mane, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all up for the award and they will battle it out against Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne and Leicester’s Jamie Vardy.
The Reds won their first league title in 30 years, finishing 18 points ahead of runners-up City while Vardy won the division’s Golden Boot with 23 goals.
The Foxes striker also notched is 100th Premier League goal against Crystal Palace in July.
Mane enjoyed another prolific season for Jurgen Klopp’s title-winners, scoring 18 goals and making seven assists.
But his fellow Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has misses out, despite scoring one more goal and making three more assists than his team-mate.
The Reds’ captain Jordan Henderson is nominated for the PFA Players’ Player of the Year but does not make the list for the fans’ award.
Alexander-Arnold, who is also nominated for the players’ award as well as Young Player of the Year, was part of a Liverpool defence that kept 15 clean sheets.
The right back also made a record 13 assists, one more than he managed in the 2018-2019 campaign, and he also scored four times.
Van Dijk makes the shortlist for the fans’ award after missing out on being nominated for the main prize – which he won last season.
De Bruyne led the way for assists in the 2019-2020 campaign with 20 goals created and the Belgian also managed to score 13 times for Pep Guardiola’s side.
His team-mate Sterling enjoyed his most prolific season in the Premier League with 20 goals.
Fans can vote for their Player of the Season at the PFA website with the winner set to be announced on Monday.
