Khabib Nurmagomedov will turn down the chance of a rematch with Conor McGregor or a contest against Tony Ferguson to face Georges St-Pierre in his next fight, according to the fighter’s manager.
The Dagestani submitted American Dustin Poirier in Abu Dhabi in their lightweight title contest, and his manager Ali Abdelaziz immediately lined up his next contest.
Abdelaziz also insisted his man had no interest in facing McGregor again, after beating him in October 2018.
Ali told TMZ Sports: ‘Khabib is 28 and 0, 28 tried and 28 failed.
‘Nobody really cares about what Tony says, nobody gives a s*** really.
‘As far as I know, GSP is next, not Tony. That’s what I want.
‘Tony doesn’t get what he wants, we get what Khabib wants and if Khabib calls me and says he wants GSP, GSP will be next.
‘Georges is my friend for 10 years, and I know he wants to fight Khabib.
‘Tony Ferguson, he beat a whole bunch of guys but he never been a champion, If Khabib wants to fight for legacy, a fight with Georges St-Pierre would be a huge fight.’
This comes despite St-Pierre having apparently retired from the sport at the age of 38.
Ali added: ‘I think Khabib and GSP make more money, more headlines, people will care more.
‘I know Georges, people say he cannot make the weight. Actually Georges walks around at maybe 186lbs.
Khabib walk around at 190lbs. He can make the weight no problem. It will be great to see two legends fight. In 2019 it can happen, Canada, 60,000 seater stadium.
Ali further dismissed the idea that a rematch with McGregor could happen, despite the Irishman calling out Khabib for his next fight.
‘Conor is like a sour ex-girlfriend, she cannot get anyone else. He is not a good person, the train has left him. We dont want to talk about Conor. He beat a world champion
‘Conor, who cares? For what? We already beat him, we whooped his ass. He made it ugly, that is all he can do is promote ugliness
‘We don’t want to go through this Conor bullsh**t again. 0.00 per cent chance.’
