Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo wants to add new players to his side in January
Wolves have reportedly tabled a £25million bid for Olympiacos winger Daniel Podence as Nuno Espirito Santo looks to bolster his attacking options for the second half of the season.
According to Greek publication Sport24, the Premier League side have tabled the bid for the Portuguese wide man and want to wrap up a deal in the January window.
It is believed that Podence’s agent is Jorge Mendes, who has played an active role in Wolves’s recruitment across the last three years.
Podence scored against Tottenham in the Champions League earlier this season as Olympiacos held Spurs to a 2-2 draw in the group stage of the tournament.
Wolves are sixth in the Premier League on 31 points, level with Manchester United, and are five points behind fourth-place Chelsea.
After beating Southampton 3-2 in the Premier League on Saturday, Wolves boss Nuno underlined his desire to bring in some new additions at the club.
‘It’s been very demanding on the players, but it’s a challenge we’re embracing,’ he said of Wolves’s schedule that has seen them compete in the Europa League after qualifying through the play-offs. ‘We love to compete, enjoy competing.
‘But we still need players. We still need players who can help us and improve us.’
